monday blues.

i've got the monday blues, so here is a little peak into my weekend...

A morning with the Sarge as I like to call him, but officially known as Sgt. Pepper.
An afternoon date with Noah, complete with his Spiderman PJs and rainboots!

Got dresses in our snazzy duds in honor of Heather
and went to a fancy dinner to celebrate her birthday.
1. birthday cupcake 2. dinner
3. rooftop lounge, but we only went to look because it was freezing. brrrr. 4. quick outfit pic.

1. me and the birthday girl. 2. the boys thinking they are hipsters/in the mafia (the black gloves).
3. eric staring down the bison.

the main event.

Today I am super excited because I get to go watch Marisa try on dresses for her wedding! I feel very honored/special that she asked me to come along. The dress is such an important part, setting off the tone for the entire wedding. And pretty much since the second she asked me, I haven't been able to stop looking at wedding dresses myself. (I don't think the release of BHLDN helped with this either, which I shared earlier this week.) It makes me feel a little silly to be looking at these dresses all day long when I'm nowhere near having a wedding or a husband of my own. But the dresses from Vera Wang, they are all so gorgeous.

here's just two that I'm in love with from Vera Wang's Spring 2011 Collection

I think that this one takes the cake for me.
Totally drool-worthy.

Couldn't you just die?!

I'm off and looking forward to seeing what this day brings. Hope your day is lovely as well!

parks and rainy days.

on wednesday i took the day off to do wedding errands with sarah. she took me to the venue for the first time. it's going to be gorgeous, i can already tell, even though when we went it was rainy and windy. it's such a simple yet beautiful space. it's right next to the san gabriel mission, so it has that very old town feel and these great brick walls surrounding it. we went to measure for bunting and to get a feel of how and where everything would be set up. it made me so so excited for may. just get here already!

here's a few little sneak peek pics of sarah's wedding venue:

after the rest of our tasks for the day we felt sleepy and it was raining. so we rewarded ourselves by getting cozy with coffee and a game of crossword cubes.

i'm sorry, i'm not usually a fan of dogs in clothes, but Cleo was just too cute in her little rain parka, complete with hood. and how cute is that liddol puppy face with big puppy eyes?

so excited that it's a three day weekend. i have a lot of little things to do, but i hope to get some nice rest and relaxing in there too. and i have real exciting plans for monday, can't wait to share with you all. what are your plans for these next three days?

Put Your Paws Up

I don't know about you, but I love the Gaga. I know you're probably thinking, "what? why?" But I've succumb to Lady Gaga.

Yes, she's a bit out there, a little (or more than a little) bizarre, but I love it. Did you see her entrance to the Grammy's? She came in an egg/womb. Now tell me, who else could pull that off?

I saw her on Jay Leno and 60 Minutes and was actually surprised by how much I liked her when she wasn't performing. She seemed genuine and had a good sense of humor.

And I can't get enough of her new single, Born This Way. I woke up singing it this morning and continued to sing and hum it to myself all da. I don't care if you think it sounds like Madonna because I like it.

i hope you can share my love. at least for this song.

guilty pleasure confession: I'm actually really into a lot of the pop music out right now. I can't help myself. I'm a sucker for upbeat and semi-cheesy pop music.

xoxo

p.s. I can't wait to see the new Britney video tonight.

iphone, dice, and gnomes.

I've been very patient. Waiting for what seems like forever. And the day finally came. I got an iphone! and I love it. I'm a little obsessed with it. and also a little overwhelmed.

Over the weekend we had a little girls night.
Went out for a little italian and then had a relaxing night in at Marina's.

we're all excited for my new phone. yippee!
She asked us all to humor her and play Yahtzee, and it was really fun. There was talk of upcoming weddings, recent trips abroad, and future babies.

erin rolled a yahtzee on the last roll of the game. it was very exciting.
but i won the game ;)

Saw Gnomeo and Juliet with my favorite couple, and best friend. I liked every single thing about this movie. Absolutely, all of it. William Shakespeare, acted out by gnomes, all set (only) to Elton John. I'm sorry, but I just don't think there are many things that can top that.

the boys played video games, obvi.

and eric wanted to cuddle with jen aniston. so he used the ipad.
pretty clever, that boy.
(p.s. when i told eric he kind of looked high, he said, "high on love." oh gosh, what a cheeseball)

This week I'm working on trying to go to bed at a decent hour. It's been proving difficult for me over the last few weeks. and still is. here's to hoping.

today i am going with sarah to see her wedding venue! to measure and get more ideas for decorations. it's going to be great.

gushing.

i'm in love...

with BHLDN!

I just looked through everything.
And I love all of it.
It's a good thing I'm not planning my wedding right now,
cause this would've thrown me way off.

lovin it: valentines.

a few of my favorite little diddies from this valentines day:

heart tights

x's and o's

the cutest little cupid's arrow made from pretzels and heart shaped gummies!

one of my preschoolers actually brought these in today.
isn't that a great idea for kids. less candy, more good stuff, and super cute.

another one of my kids brought heart-shaped multicolored crayons.
i absolutely loved this.

and i found this to give. a small pot with a mini rose bush planted in it.

happy valentines day!

i just can't get enough.

so last night i went to target to grab a few necessities. and well i had to walk right past the shoe section. i let myself take a little stroll down the aisles...i saw quite a few cuties, especially one pair of boots. and i could not resist.
i just can't get enough boots, i want a whole closet just full of boots.
oh, how i wish.
here they are:

can't wait to wear these tonight. it's friday night and it's gonna be a girl's night.

tomorrow i'm going to go see Gnomeo and Juliet with this girl, she's loves the gnomies. This movie looks beyond awesome. i've been waiting for what seems like forever.

what are your weekend plans?
happy friday!

obsessing over

buns & bows!

or pretty much anything to do with hair.

lately, all i've been wanting to do is put my hair in a bun. and i feel like it keeps making its way a little higher upon my head every time.

but i've seen a few other ways I want to try my hair soon. unfortunately, i'm not that good at doing hair. so i usually stick to the basics:
straight, wavy, pony, or bun.
but i'm feeling more adventurous lately.

and hair accessories...i'm all about them right now. i love bows and little clippys. they're so easy and yet can add so much. I'm patiently waiting for my Giant Dwarf mini heartlette sparkler!

le weekend...a little late

i know it's late, but better late than never right,

this is what my weekend looked like:

  • got asked to help out with designing a small diy wedding. so excited! i'll be giving updates as I go.
  • friday night was game night with the cousins. we played a new game, Smart Ass and an old favorite Taboo. It was super fun to hang out with my cousins for the night. It had been way too long. See, I come from a very large extended family with 22 cousins (it's even bigger now that lots are married and have kids). And we see each other pretty often, I would even say that some of them are like sisters to me.
  • a nice long saturday workout. i felt so good and refreshed, and tired afterward.
  • sat down to finally finish this pinwheel order for a wedding coming up this summer. i really love how it turned out. she wanted lots of very bright colors, it was fun color palette to work with.
and i think this might be one of my most fave pinwheels so far, if not my most favorite.
and look how cute the back is: pink with little green teakettles!

  • had a special girl date with erin! we got coffee and saw Blue Valentine. My verdict is still out on this movie. I liked it, but it was so heavy and a lot to process in such a short time.
but looking at michelle williams and ryan gosling for two hours,
definitely a plus in my book
(via)
  • super bowl sunday party at the mcneely's! (like most everyone else in America) to be honest, I hadn't watched a single NFL game this season, and i didn't watch that much of the actual game on sunday either. and i stayed way too late, because we played our own game, of cranium, after. and of course, tobin, erin, and i whooped the boys.

30 day update: so far I've been pretty faithful to my diet/exercise program. I haven't eaten the exact meals on the day, but i've stayed within calories and just had leftovers from other meals because of time (and a little cause of money). i've also been doing my work outs and adding cardio. It's now day 9 and i don't feel any different yet, well i feel a little healthier but not any smaller...i'm hoping i'll start to see/feel it soon and that will give me some motivation to stick with it for the rest of the time.

tuesday treasures.

my polaroid 600 camera!

I know it may sound cheesy that I treasure my polaroid camera, but I seriously love that thing. The pictures it takes are my favorite, the way the colors are faded and they have little imperfections. Plus they're instant, can't get much better than that. It's the neatest! I'm so sad that they don't really make film anymore, or at least I can't find any that it remotely affordable. I know have a fujifilm instax, that I've named "the tugboat" for it's giant size, but it's just not the same.

(this might be my favorite picture of the 5 of us. me, jamie, tobin, allie, erin.
the first rewombion, summer "08)

At the Womb there were polaroids everywhere. It was one of our fave things, to get all 5 of us together in an awesome polaroid picture.

(polaroid wall in the womb)

1) no more melancholy 2) Hogwarts! 3) womb nation 4) dancing in a ceiling-less room 5) shawn & james jam sesh 6) we think we're cool because we're holding polaroids of ourselves 7) shawn/bob dylan 8) mustache party 9) baby noah peace sign 10) bestiefest '07 11) the lost weekend 12) my favorite ukrainian boys 13) shawn checkin out allie's booty 14) i am the walrus 15) what's under there? it's a secret... 16) mermaid beach 17) downtown danville breakfast 18) touch my body & donut man 19) tobin's dream come true 20) ain't no party like a womb party 21) family portrait 22) womb night out 23) pretty nails 24) don't mind the crown 25) on the drive

gettin mail and workin it out!

As I said the other day, I love to get things in the mail. And a few days ago I got a package
My gold chevron earrings from Moorea Seal came! I absolutely love them. I've already worn them once, and plan to wear them again this weekend. (I would've probably worn them everyday, except I work at a preschool, so I don't like to wear earrings that hang because the babies tend to grab them, ouch!)

You should seriously check out her etsy shop. It's really simple pieces, yet super stylish. I love all of it. And I wish that my budget would've allowed me to buy a few more things. Guess I'll just have to wait and save a few pennies here and there.

Now I just have to wait for my mini heartlette sparkler to come from Giant Dwarf.

In other news...on the 1st I started a 30-day diet and exercise plan. It's only day 3 and let me just say, my body is aching! But at the same time it feels really good to know that I'm getting my healthy back on. (I lost it for awhile, from around Thanksgiving, til the end of January). Over the last few months I've been really stressed out and on a roller coaster of emotions, and when that happens I tend to eat, a lot. Oops. I wish that when I was upset or stressed that I would desire to go running, not crave fast food. Well, now I'm trying to change that, so good for me. I really want to do all 30 days, so I'm gonna try my very best to follow through, but I'm gonna need some encouragement especially after a week or two. And on valentine's day! eeek, what was I thinking? Maybe this year I won't eat all the candy that I get from my preschoolers. Here's to hoping.

tuesday treasures.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago, I did a treasure post about one of my favorite little trinkets. And I've decided to make it a weekly post, so now every week I'll have a "tuesday treasures!"

This Tuesday I have a new special item to share with you...

matryoshkas!
or russian nesting dolls as most of you probably know them by.

I don't know why, I just really love these. I have since I was a little girl.
And these are just a few of my favorites...

(the gorgeous green one is from Vietnam. given to me by the lovely Erin from her travels abroad. i love the detail on this one!)

(the beautiful blue one is all the way from Russia with love. I was so excited to get this one. when my friend shaun studied abroad in eastern europe, he went to russia for a few weeks and brought it back for me)

(needles to say, I love the beatles. and i got this set of nesting dolls on my first trip to
new york. close to strawberry fields)

(it sits on my shelf with all my books and other little trinkets)

(it even has a teeny, tiny beetle. it's kind of my favorite thing about it)

Oh, and happy february.
