my nozzles.

This last weekend we made a girls trip to Palm Springs to celebrate Laura before she ties the know at the beginning of next month.

We stayed at the Riviera, which was a fun new place for us. On Friday, we just relaxed and had a few drinks before getting ready to go to dinner. After some delicious tacos and margaritas, we walked around town and headed to the Ace Hotel (a personal fave of mine) to see what was going on.

Saturday, we slept in, kind of then headed into town for our morning coffee and breakfast. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful desert weather. Take a look at her stunning ring!

We laid by the pool all afternoon easting snacks, listening to Lil Wayne pandora, talking, giggling, and soaking up all the sun we could. Then we took a nap, and boy was it a good nap. We got the bride all dressed in veil and garter and headed out for a night on the town!

yes, even karaoke-d
excuse the blurry pictures, but i just love them too much to not post them

Sunday was another day of laying by the pool before heading home.

I seriously thought that I had gotten away with laying out in the blazing sun for two days straight without getting a sunburn. But I was majorly mistaken and looked a little like a lobster for a few days. Well only my front half. Oops!

Congratulations Laura! We love you and can't wait to celebrate with you on your special day! Just 15 more days!

i survived another bachelorette weekend in palm springs.
we had a great time, the weather was nice and not too hot. we lived it up.
it was good to "get away" even if it was only for 48 hours.

laura. the beautiful bride to be. in 3 weeks!

i seriously thought i had made it through the weekend without getting burned.
ha, was i wrong. the whole front of my body is hot pink! and painful.
when will i learn my lesson?

i just can't get enough.

so last night i went to target to grab a few necessities. and well i had to walk right past the shoe section. i let myself take a little stroll down the aisles...i saw quite a few cuties, especially one pair of boots. and i could not resist.
i just can't get enough boots, i want a whole closet just full of boots.
oh, how i wish.
here they are:

tomorrow i'm going to go see Gnomeo and Juliet with this girl, she's loves the gnomies. This movie looks beyond awesome. i've been waiting for what seems like forever.

le weekend.

this is what my weekend looked like:
  • friday night girl time with Marisa and Marina. Lots of wedding and baby talk. But don't worry, none of us are gonna have a baby anytime soon (fingers crossed), we just think they are too cute.
  • a nice saturday run, it was a beautiful day.
  • bowling for Matt's birthday. I hadn't been bowling in years and boy, am I horrible at it. I still had lots of fun though. It was "Extreme Bowling" which means black lights, a fog machine, and horrible pop music that I loved every second of.

(the brothers proffitt. i would tell you to listen to their podcast because it's absolutely hilarious, but they haven't done one for months and months)

(a little bowling action, i know the picture is dark but it was the only
action shot that kind of turned out from the night :/ )
(matt blowing out his birthday candles, all 26 of them!)

(truly one of my bests, eric)
  • Worked all day on a few custom etsy orders. And made cute little tags to send with my pinwheels.
(i really like them, and they have a nice little contrasting blue color on the opposite side)

(my work space)
  • and now time for a little reading before bed!

le weekend.

I let myself sleep in today as long as I wanted, for the first time in a long time, and I think I way overslept. Oops. Now I'm still tired. This weekend is all about taking it easy for me, I've been running and running too much lately.

I've already had a wonderful Friday. I went to an "all american" bbq for my friend Leah, who is leaving for a semester abroad on Monday. It was so much fun and I'm so glad that I got to tell her "Bon Voyage" in person.

I don't really have any plans for the next two day...so we shall see what this weekend holds.

weekend update.

I made my first Etsy sale on Friday and I am ecstatic!

Last week my boss had me cook her leftover pumpkins from Halloween so she could make some pumpkin goodies. There were two big pumpkins and she had so much she didn't know what to do with it all, so she gave some to me. All week long I've been thinking about delicious pumpkin flavored recipes that I could use it for. I finally decided on making pumpkin soup, and that is what I did today.

It was delicious. I scraped the bowl clean.

I FINALLY cleaned my room. Not like a "I put everything away, mostly" kind of clean, like REALLY cleaned and slightly reorganized it. I even hung a few more things on the wall, got rid of some old junk that I was holding onto for who knows what reason, and found a few things that I thought I had lost.

Another thing that I did after a long time of waiting was giving myself a little fringe trim. My fringe was all the way past my eyes, I could not see if I wore it straight down. But now look...

...they are the perfect length (almost, it was as close as I could get myself). I like having them straight across, it just takes so much upkeep. I feel like it needs to be trimmed every week, and let's face it, I just won't keep up with that. But for now, I like them this way, so they shall stay at least for a little while.

And now I'm off to get ready for a girl's night! Can't wait to see Jaymee and hear about her mini-honeymoon and see pictures from her wedding last weekend. Stay tuned this week for some Christmas-ness, some fried goodies, and hopefully a project or two.

weekend.

Friday is finally here. This week has seemed so long and yet the days have passed me by so fast all at the same time. My hours at work got bumped up, a lot. And after this week its hard to remember how I used to work everyday for 8 hours like it was nothing. Whew! I am glad for this work week to be done. I have a pretty eventful/fun weekend ahead of me. I'm just hoping I can catch up on some sleep somewhere in there too (I'm still worn out from the wedding weekend in Palm Springs).

I've begun to start thinking about the "holiday season" and all that entails it. Mostly about Christmas though. Christmas presents. Thinking about things that I would perhaps want to get, but more importantly thinking about everyone else there is to give gifts to. Let's see. The basics are: Mom, Dad, Brother, Nephew. Then there's other family, and lots of friends. I LOVE to give gifts, it's my love language, but there just aren't enough funds for everybody. So I'm racking my brain trying to think of cute, thrifty ideas for Holiday crafts/gifts. I have a couple ideas already that I'll share as it gets closer. But if you have any ideas, please help me out. I'd really appreciate it.

And just because pictures are always so much more fun. Here's one:
I wish this was me right now. Instead I'm baking in the hot, hot sun.

weekend update.

I've been pretty productive in the crafting department so far this weekend. I'm able to cross off reading my book and finishing my blanket and I'm halfway done with my fall leaf garland. There are still a few more colors that I want to put in the garland, so I have to go searching for some more felt. It's kind of hard to find pretty colors of felt sometime. I think putting the fall wreath on the list was a little too ambitious, maybe I'll put that on the list for sometime this week, along with going to buy my next book to read, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, by Steig Larsson.

here's a little sneak peek of the leaves I made:

weekend.

My weekend to do's:
-Finish reading my book, which I plan on doing immediately after I post this. It's just so good I can barely put it down.
-Finish crocheting the blanket I've been working on. It's almost done, I'm so close to the end.
-Make some cute little fall leaf decorations.
- (edit) Okay, let's add fall wreath to this list too.

Those are just a few things I want to accomplish this weekend among other things. I still have errands to do, like getting a present for another bridal shower. And as much as I would like to accomplish all three of those things this weekend, I'm just not sure that I will. They all take a lot of time, plus I might just get lazy and want to do nothing, I do that sometimes, actually I do that a lot of times. If I do them there will be pictures to come of my crafty projects.
